As an international student, if I was asked what are the things I miss the most from Bangladesh, my answer has to be "The Desi Food". One of them being Bhuna Kichuri, a traditional Bangladeshi food cooked with turmeric powder and split green grams. It is very popular dish back home as well. This is most preferred dish for Bangladeshis on winter mornings and especially on rainy days.
In Sydney, finding this meal was very easy thing. Lakemba, a popular destination for Bangladeshis and all bengali food delicacies. One of the few restaurants that serve this meal is Khushboo Sweets & Restaurant. This place is located right opposite to the Lakemba Station. They serve the traditional "Bhuna Kichuri" topped with fried eggplant and a side of beef curry. The presentation of the food makes it more exciting. Mostly go there on rainy mornings or when I suffer from homesickness. Lastly, I would like to grab the attention of all foreigners those who want to have a taste bud of Bengali food, then go to Lakemba to taste all the heavenly dishes that the Bangladeshi culture has on offer.
Surely you won't be disappointed by Bangladeshi Food!
