Studying at a University near a shopping centre with a food court is always
a bad idea for someone who loves food. This dish known as Nasi Goreng was
eaten at "Jim's Malaysian "in the food court of the Macquarie shopping centre
at lunch time.
The presentation of the dish exceeded expectations as well as the flavour, costing
me in total $15.80. The dish was served with chicken fried rice, egg, lettuce and
a spice curry paste to mix with your rice. When eating the dish all the different
flavours combined creating a spicy, hot crunchy flavour. I thought the mix of flavour
was a great combination for this dish as it had the right spice level and texture when
combining everything together.
Nasi Goreng is a traditional dish derived from China known as the, Chinese Fried Rice.
It is now a traditional dish not only in Malaysia but also in Indonesia. Each
cultures adaptions date back to the 10th-15th century when trade was at its prime.
The dish has been changed based on the slight difference in each cultures use
of ingredients, individually tailored to the Malaysian and Indonesian style of food.
Referring back to my lunch-time dish the thought that this dish has evolved
over time creates an appreciation for Malaysian food. The Nasi Goreng tasted
great, when the weather is slightly cool this dish is a great selection. I would
recommend and eat at this place again to try an alternative dish or to just eat Nasi Goreng again.
Until next time bloggers!
Shane!
